Abstract

This research investigates cybersecurity threats targeting Management Information systems (MIS) and strategies for building robust defenses. The prevalent threats include data breaches, malware attacks, and DoS attacks. Underlying vulnerabilities in MIS systems, like complexity and legacy systems, create exploitable attack surfaces. The research emphasizes a multilayered security approach including system hardening, data encryption, employee training, and incident response planning. Fostering a culture of security is crucial for a human firewall against cyber threats. Organizations must continuously adapt to the evolving threat landscape.
